Hi! I am really glad you like my site – it’s more of a diary for me and for the readers. Golden Retrievers are very hard to find here in Kuwait – especially pure bred ones like my King. I suggest you contact the following:

I would also advise you to adopt a dog from either Paws and Animal Friends.
Note: I only breed yorkies.

Do you know if their puppes are pedigree? or do they give all the papers? like health certificate and etc?
called the guy last week, he stopped breeding, but will direct you to other breeders in the country. The only way to find a good dog is to keep asking people, do an online search via google & see what pops up.

prior to purchasing a dog check with AFL & Paws, as they have had Golden’s in the past.

well, lots of people have been praising Fahad – however I wouldn’t personally get a dog sight unseen.
There are sick animals in souq in 7amam, at the same time many pet owners will sell their dogs there (for a multitude of reasons)
when coming to kuwait kindly make sure your future residence allows k9′s – or you could just bring in a pet with you =)

Lil, all dogs that arrive from abroad come via cargo ( as does Fahad’s dogs) there are certain airlines that are better than the rest (lufhansa- airfrance) are two of the best as they have plenty of experience & know about climate control for pets in cargo. Some breeds cannot travel during the summer time to the gulf region due to their short noses.
most of our pets came from abroad & arrived just fine ( they were all hand picked after visiting endless breeders) => sadly we are down to one and been searching for the past seven months =<
there is one pet store here that brings in golden's – i do suspect they are from puppy mills & hoping the shop will be shut down soon. there is an excellent local breeder for golden's here, as well other breeds – they hardly publish or advertise due to some folks mistreating their pets.. you could always call a vet and ask for recomendations =)
I will try that also, calling vet and asking them is good opinion.

Oh Lil, I have been trying to located a labrador breeder in Kuwait or the past couple of months – contacted reputable breeders about it with no luck, also phoned most vet clinics in the country to find a young pup ( two months of age) there is however a 6-7 month old male yellow lab up for adoption right now! my vet told me about him ( sadly we prefer females) hope this helps – if you’re coming to the country soon then he’s all yours. Also, last month there was an english stock male labrador at a local shelter.

Brining your dog to Kuwait shouldn’t be an issue at all as long as she’s always on a leash when outdoors…
There are hundreds of dog lovers here in Kuwait. So that should be OK.
The weather is very hot (it reached 51C yesterday during the afternoon) so the best time to walk your dog would be in the evenings. Otherwise, your dog would do just fine in an air-conditioned home.

*sigh* hi Lil, there were some chocolate labs available trhough the vet, yellow ones currently on the market. the organization I belong to currently has one golden for adoption, we are expecting more surrenders (shepards: adults and one puppy) + we might get another golden. you never know what we might get for adoption.

Im not looking to adopt but, I have a pure breed Springer Spaniel and he’s in desperate need of a girlfriend! I’ve been looking everywhere but still no luck.
I dont want to chop chop him yet since we want babies (which will go to family members who want Springer Spaniels) so if a female Springer happens to find its way to you we’ll take her and either keep her as his companion (we’ll chop chop after the litter) so we dont end up with too many to handle:) or find her a great home with lots of running space since they are soooo energetic!!

but the funny thing is i havent seen any dog in kuwait except in veterinary? People dont take their puppies or dogs outside for a walk?

I walk my dogs around the neighborhood (in Surra Area) and I rarely bump into other people walking their dogs.
You can walk yours anywhere in Kuwait as long as it’s outdoor and they’re on leash! (they’d love the beach!)

i’m a dog owner myself. Lad is a hybred German shepherd; he’s a smart one though.
well, the thing is i’d like to find a pale for him, a she. now that i’m in collage i admit that i’m not with him all the time. he’s in a farm, you see. it’s nice big and open for him there but he doesn’t have much of a friend with him there.

I am moving to Kuwait soon and want to bring my dog with me. One of my friends living there now told me that a Kuwaiti intentionally ran over a dog while his owner was walking him so now i’m afraid to bring my dog there.

so it means that people who want to buy them must be very careful because that dog will get so stressed and desperate because he cant get his energy out for long time and btw siberian husky is considered to be most energetic dog of all breeds
so be careful before buying because if the dog bites you, its your response that you didnt take him out for a walk
just because he bites you his name will get in banned dog list and all good huskies ther will have to get in bad situations
how will you keep him in kuwait in summer? you need to have a hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee house in order to keep him running in the house air conditioned
dont choose a pet because he looks great,,you have to choose a pet which fits your life style
Totally agree, people who want dogs need to get a dog who’s disposition fits their lifestyle! People often make mistakes and end up blaming the dog. Dogs are a serious responsibility and should not be abused as any other creature God put on earth. Be serious, do your homework, research the type of dog you want and see if it will fit your lifestyle. Dogs are like permanent babies who will always need your care and will never grow up and open the fridge to eat or go to the bathroom…you have to do all that for them : )

I just read that you are looking at bringing a dog home to Kuwait that is wonderful. I have had dogs all my life and currently have two Yorkies myself.
If this is your first dog, may I respectfully share some pros and cons of owning a dog: It is very important you look at the dog as beyond being a cute toy to cuddle. Dogs are living, breathing, and feeling creatures God put on this earth. They need a lot of care, attention, patience, and love. If you never had a dog you need to seriously think this over, it is a lifetime commitment (dog’s lifetime averages between 10 to 15 years).
Although there are many rewards in owning a dog, there are also many responsibilities. Those include: medical attention, feeding the dog the correct diet twice a day, taking it for a walk to relieve itself two to three times a day, grooming it (cutting hair, brushing teeth, cleaning ears etc.) You also have to ask yourself the following questions: who will watch my dog/ feed it while I am gone all day or even gone for vacation? Who will take my Doggie out to relieve itself on time so that it does not do it at home? Is my family, friends, or family friends still going to visit us if I have have a dog? Some people may not want to visit anymore.
I hope you are not offended by my email, I just care about these poor creatures very much and I have seen people with good intentions in adopting a dog eventually find them to be too much responsibility. I heard far too many sad stories. You cannot get a dog then change your mind and throw it out on the streets, a dog like that will die from starvation.
Please think carefully and very seriously about adopting a dog. If you decide you can handle the above written and more, then I wish you all the best for you and your new Dog. They are wonderful creatures that love you unconditionally. If you have any questions I will happy to help.

Bro dody, no one can forbid u or ur dog from walking on beach, u can take ur dog to the beach and have a walk and ignore those weak minds people, about what Islam says, Tell them that each animal who doesn’t find the good hand to take care of it, it should be dirt, even humans, but with care and attention, nothing is dirty, Islam never said anything bad abut dogs, nothing written in Quran that dogs are dirty animals or whatever from these things, dogs are very great creatures, u can walk ur dog on beaches, parks, and shelters, or any good areas in Kuwait that has too many dogs owners, unlike some areas that may bug u all the time and may call the police at u just u have a cute little dog … so plz, ignore these people, thank u .

Well, dogs aggressiveness all depends on how you treat and train them.
Labradors are not necessarily the safest breed for kids as remember that Isabelle Dinoire had her face transplanted because of her black Lab, who chewed it off.
I have kids at home (4 and 6 year old), but I never leave them with animals unattended… just in case something goes wrong

even if u prepare to pray u can touch your dog and then wash your hands .

I have a labrador retriever, he’s a year old and ever since his neutering surgery he gained a lot of weight. I changed his diet to less carbs but I can’t seem to get him to exercise, since he has HD. I’m really worried about his health and he’s a young dog, he should be energetic but he’s lazy lol. so I’d really love some advice!

Can anyone please tell me where i can get a dog house, one that can shelter 5/6 puppies. My female Pug is pregnant and due in about 7 days, and theres no way i can leave the puppies running around the house naked! :p
P.S: i will be keeping one of the puppies, and selling the rest. So if youre looking to buy a pure bred pug, just let me know. but all puppies will spend at least 1st month with the mother pug

I would recommend a crate – a bigger one, instead of a dog house.
Please note that puppies won’t start crawling or walking until about a month or even more and it is recommended to keep the the puppies with their mother for at least 2 1/2 months.

q8 puppies, can we organize a program that socializes dogs and they play together. Maybe like a garden park or a place where all dog owners meet up and let their puppies and dogs play ? But its better if we keep the dogs separate and the pups separate. I suggested this idea because there isn’t any place where a puppy can have fun and socialize with strangers and this is important for a dog and its owner so once it develops into an adult, it wont be aggressive or fearful. Please tell me your opinion.

Hello, thanks for starting this blog – its extremely useful and I am very happy to know that there is a community of dog lovers in Kuwait. Having said that, I will be moving to Kuwait early next year and my gorgeous 3 year old Maltese female will be joining me. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on:
1. Residential areas that allow dogs (apartment buildings)
2. Dog friendly outdoor areas (parks/ beach to walk her as she loves the outdoors and a grass patch)
3. Vets and groomers
4. dog socializing events – any meet ups or places where dog owners socialise their pups?

I’ve a problem which you might be able to help me with . My friend has a female dog (Terrier I guess) and she was planning to leave her with me when she goes on vacation(June-July). I already have a dog and I’m fine to host hers for couple of weeks. The problem is that I was selected for an overseas assignment at work and will travel on the same period my friend is travelling. I will keep my dog with the family but they are not ok at all to host my friend’s dog. I searched for pets hotel they are really expensive !! do you know a place where I can keep my friend’s dog till she comes back?
